The Manoir de Youville was once a active convent of the Grey Nuns and now the home of many of the retired sisters and their guests. We rented rooms for 11 of us to stay for three days to paint and feed our souls.
Some of us spend hours exploring the grounds and wildlife that live on this tiny island. There is a painting everywhere you look, and as you paint you can feel the stresses of your life melt away. Many of us sat to watch the sun set, while others enjoyed a good book or continued to work on the paintings started earlier. No TV, no telephone, no computers, no stress just rest and paint. This was a little piece of Heaven!!
Le Manoir Youville, autrefois un couvent pour les Soeurs grises, est présentement une résidence pour les religieuses à la retraite et pour leurs invités. Nous avions loués onze chambre pour trois jours ou nous étions libre pour simplement peindre. Un petit moment de paix sur terre.
